Planning Director
Dan serves as the Planning Director for Council District 12. In this position, he is responsible for assisting and serving Councilmember Lee’s constituency in all matters related to land use planning, zoning, conditional use permits, in addition to also being responsible for other land matters related to various city departments.
Dan has over 20 years of experience in both public and private service and throughout his career has mastered the various aspects of land use planning. Dan has served various constituencies, small businesses, commercial and residential real estate professionals, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and local schools. He credits his experience and institutional knowledge in both the public and private sectors to the opportunities afforded him by the City of Los Angeles and other partnering public agencies.
Dan holds a B.A. in Economics from California State University, Northridge and obtained his Law Degree from Western State University College of Law. In his free time, Dan cherishes sport fishing alongside his brothers in Baja Mexico, traveling abroad with his wife Luz, and refining his culinary skills for family gatherings.
