Volunteer Opportunities at the Mid-Valley Regional Library

February 22, 2019

Our libraries are one of the most important resources in our communities. You can  help support our libraries by volunteering! There are many volunteer opportunities on weekly and quarterly basis and the Mid-Valley Regional Library in North Hills is looking for volunteers to support the library's mission. Some tasks may require a background check and fingerprinting, training, and specific skills.

Weekly:

  • Adult Literacy Tutor – Teach adults how to read.
  • Conversation Class- Help adults practice speaking in English and learn new vocabulary words.
  • Gardener– Tend the community garden and help keep the library entrance area clean by sweeping.
  • Star Reader – Read to children who visit the library.
  • Veteran’s Center Helper-  Help Veterans and their families connect to resources available online.

Quarterly:

  • Book Sale Help -  Cart boxes of books back to storage after a book sale.

To volunteer, you can visit the Mid-Valley Regional Library located at 16244 Nordhoff St. in North Hills or by calling (818) 895-3650. Please ask for Sr. Librarian Vicki Magaw.
