Conversation with Councils

March 1, 2019

While my time on City Council is limited until a special election is held this summer, it is my primary goal to see that my office continues to deliver the same level of engagement and responsiveness to the 12th Council District that our constituents have come to expect over the years. That means making myself and my staff accessible to you, the residents and stakeholders in the 12th Council District.

On Monday of this week, I held the first Conversations with Councils of 2019. This meeting brings representatives from each of the 12th District's Neighborhood Councils together to discuss priorities and concerns of our communities.

At the event, I saw many familiar and a few new faces of individuals who are giving their own time in service of the community. The conversations we had ranged from the issue of homelessness to the procedures for updating community plans and I'm pleased to see that our Neighborhood Council representatives are some of the most engaged and informed in the City.

I look forward to continue getting out in the community for various events to meet and speak with as many of you as possible. On this coming Thursday, March 7 for example, I'm pleased to announce that I'll be cutting the ribbon on a new playground we're opening at Porter Ridge Park. I invite you to join me for the Ribbon Cutting at 10 AM at the park where my staff and I can introduce ourselves and discuss any of your concerns.

I also encourage you to like and follow our new social media channels on Facebook and Twitter so you can keep up with our activities as an office. Hope to see you next Thursday!
