The Annual Salute to Recreation Senior Dance

June 7, 2019

Every year, the Department of Recreation and Parks proudly presents The Salute to Recreation Senior Dance. It is a great opportunity for all seniors from our community to come together to enjoy a fun night of dancing and meet new friends who also enjoy maintaining active lifestyles. This year’s theme, a celebration of the film “Grease”, was a big hit!

The evening kicked off with the Scout Color Guard presentation of the Colors and flag salute, followed by a special dance presentation from National Dance Contest winners, Stefani and Edwin, from Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Woodland Hills. After a delicious dinner, the dance floor then quickly filled with folks dressed in their best doo-wop getup, ready to dance the night away to the band’s renditions of the film’s hit songs.

On behalf of all of Council District 12, we’d like to extend a generous thank you to all who were in attendance and a special thank you to the Department of Recreation and Parks for putting together yet another successful senior dance event. If you missed out on the fun this time, we hope that you can join us next year in a night filled with dance, laughter and good times!
