While the departure of Nicole Bernson is bittersweet, I'm proud to say that the Council District 12 Staff continues to be the best staff of any council office in the City. That is in no small part thanks to our newly appointed Chief of Staff Hannah Lee and Deputy Chief of Staff Jessica Strobel.
Hannah Lee is Council District 12's longest serving staff member having served on my team during my first term as Councilmember. She would eventually serve as my Planning Deputy and later as Planning Director under my successor Mitchell Englander, and then, most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff. As her experience suggests, Hannah Lee knows the 12th Council District inside and out and has done more to guide and protect the character of our neighborhoods than just about anyone in the City of Los Angeles. Anyone who has worked with her can tell you that she commands deep respect both inside and outside of City Hall and is trusted by the full staff as a mentor and leader.
Jessica Strobel has been with the Council District 12 office for several years and most recently served as our Director of External Affairs. In her role as the primary liaison to the Department of Recreation and Parks, she was integral in the reopening of Chatsworth Park South as well as the construction and opening of Oakridge Park. She is incredibly well-versed in the operations of our District and in providing excellent service for the residents of CD12.
I know Hannah and Jessie will both excel in their new roles because they will continue to be supported by the rest of our incredible CD12 staff. If you are interested in reading more about each of them, I recommend you visit our CD12 Staff page on our website.
