Senior Advisor
Ron serves as a Senior Advisor to Councilmember Lee. Ron joined the CD12 team in 2013, after serving the West Valley as the Special Projects Coordinator and Education Deputy for Councilmember Dennis Zine. Over the last seven years with the Twelfth District, Ron has organized what has become flagship programs for the office, including Making Movies that Matter Youth Short Film Festival, CD12 Small Business Relief Fund, CD12/Change Reaction Angel Fund, as well as annual events such as our Educator’s Roundtable and Drive-In. He also serves as the liaison for LADWP, SoCalGas, and all issues involving our public and private schools.
Ron earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Cal State Fullerton, a Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of La Verne, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Cal Lutheran University, along with several education credentials. He has extensive experience in education, with a career that spans 23-years as a teacher in South L.A. to a middle school counselor and administrator. His expertise in human relations and anti-bias education earned him several awards and recognition for his writing and facilitating.
He is a proud native Californian, and in his previous life, was an avid surfer, rock climber, and wrestler.
